How to Enter the Awards:

The RTITB Awards recognise and celebrate the individuals and businesses that prioritise safe and efficient lift truck/material handling equipment (MHE) operations.

Who can enter?

The awards are open to any business that uses material handling equipment as part of its operations.

The rules:

  • The awards are free to enter
  • The deadline for entries is 31st August 2016
  • All entries must be written in English and no longer than 1,000 words
  • If the same or similar entry is made in multiple categories, RTITB reserve the right to identify the category best suited and only enter into that one area
  • Entry length and criteria is monitored carefully, entries that don’t comply will be marked down or rejected
  • Provide supporting evidence/testimonials clearly referenced in the entry
  • All entries must be treated as confidential

The award categories are:

Material Handling Equipment Operations –  Employer of the Year
Material Handling Equipment Trainer of the Year
Material Handling Equipment Operations –  Manager of the Year
Material Handling Equipment Operations –  Team of the Year
Material Handling Equipment Training Program of the Year

Judges will be looking for:

The judging panel includes senior industry experts within the material handling equipment sector. They will be checking all entries independently and objectively, and will take into consideration one or more of the following (amongst other things):

Material Handling Equipment Operations –  Employer of the Year

  • encourages and rewards good practice
  • identifies, challenges and resolves bad practice
  • excellent supervision and management of MHE operations
  • Uses incident, accident and near miss data effectively
  • Invests in and develops their MHE operations team


Material Handling Equipment Trainer of the Year

  • Delivers exceptional MHE training
  • Has improved training delivery quality for their employer
  • Has shown commitment over and above that usually expected
  • Has overcome adversity

Material Handling Equipment Operations –  Manager of the Year

  • be a strong leader, who can be relied upon to steer their team towards safe MHE operation
  • demonstrate commitment to being proactive in delivering continuous improvement with safety amongst their team
  • forward thinking approach to challenging their team behaviour;
  • be visible, approachable and responsive to their team
  • supporting development of the teams understanding of safe practice
  • inspire, motivate and engage training and operation

 

Material Handling Equipment Operations –  Team of the Year

  • a group that work together to collectively achieve safe MHE operation
  • a team that challenge peers behaviour and attitude towards safe practice
  • enthusiasm and openness to problem solve and implement change

 

Material Handling Equipment Training Program of the Year

  • program designed to improve MHE operations
  • innovation that challenges bad practise
  • measurable activity that shows change

You will submit an award entry to RTITB. Our panel of judges will review the applications and then the winners of the awards will be announced on the 11th November 2016 at the RTITB Awards ceremony.
